USB powered Chip Resetter for use with genuine Canon PGI-5 and CLI-8 ink cartridges.

 To reset the chip on refilled genuine Canon cartridges.

When you refill the Canon PGI-5/CLI-8 cartridges you will lose your Ink Status Monitor. This is the window that tells you when your ink is running low and cartridges need replacing.  There is a chip on each cartridge which starts at a number and counts down for every drop of ink used by the printer.  When the count gets to zero you are told to change ink cartridges.  If you refill the cartridge, the chip will still tell the computer that the cartridge is empty.  One way of overcoming this is to invest in a chip resetter.  By resetting the cartridge at the same time as refilling, the computer records that a full cartridge has been placed in the printer. The resetter is designed to be reused every time you refill.

The chip resetter can be used numerous times to reset each cartridge in this range.  We have discovered that the more you use your chip resetter the longer it will last. 

NOTE: This chip resetter will only work on genuine Canon cartridges.
